I love Tim Walker

Tim Walker
An American photographer who spesialises in fashion portraiture and set designs, his work is highly imaginative and wonderfully whimsical, love him as much as I do. Hopefully someone will buy me his book for christmas.

my Final Piece mockup

In my actual final piece I am going to use thicker paper and a sharper scalpol so that the cut out shapes are neater and cleaner. I also found that by using thin paper once I applied the watercolour paint the paper bacame crinkled which is unfortunate as I wanted to create a proffesional, clean finish to my piece. I also might add illustrations and perhaps text, let me know what you think :)

I've had this song in my head the whole time i was brainstorming for the project and coming up with the concept of 'autumn' as a brand, and everything we associate with the season..such as;
dried leaves
halloween
cold
fire
toasted marshmallows
red,yellow,brown
dead trees
change
lead up to christmas
longer nights

Orla Kiely

A famous design by Orla Kiely.
Orla Kiely is an Irish designer, at the age of 46, and has been connected with the design world for around a decade, which is an achievment at best. Her company has the condept of simple, kitsch designs which include prints on clothing, furniture, cushions. rugs, bags, kitchenware, luggage and accessories. Her work capsualates influneces from raw nature used to create graphic, simple and kitsch designs, which have proved very popular. I love her work and her designs will be the main influence for my work during this project.

stsrting the project

so at first I found the brief really confusing and didn't have clue where to start, but now I've become inspired by my surroundings. I went to my local woods today and collected lots of different types of autumnal leaves. I took inspiration from Orla Kiely's prints of simple leaf shapes, and theregore started doing my own prints to create an organisation of the autumnal leaves i collected.
